The Singing Ship

Emu Park boasts home to the famous Singing Ship, a sandstone and cast iron sculpture cenotaph sitting atop the headland.  It was commissioned in 1970 to commemorate the bi-centennial of Captain Cook’s first voyage to Australia.

The viewing deck beneath the ship affords spectacular views over the Pacific and out to the beautiful Keppel Islands.

A 175 metre memorial timber boardwalk stretches around the rocky headland and joins a foreshore path connecting to the memorial court precinct at the end of Emu Street.
